For example, diyyourwordpressdesign is a domain. I can add a subdomain to the originally domain and call it diyyourwordpressdesign/test. Subdomains are free and adding one to your hosting account is easy and is a great place for you to test out new website ideas before trying them on your live domain. When designing one of the first places I look for fonts is Google Web Fonts. They are commercial use friendly and easy to install. The process to install Google fonts on your Genesis WordPress blog is as follows:

1) Search through the fonts at Google Fonts

Tips~

You can enter your own text in the preview text box

You can narrow down your search results on the left side under filters

2) Once you find a font you like click on the quick use option

3) Scroll down the page till you see #3 Add This Code To Your Website

Click on the @import tab and highlight and copy the text

Tips~

The code you copy should follow the same format as this:

@import url(http://fonts.googleapis.com/css?family=Dancing+Script);

Section 1 includes optional styles for that particular font and the average impact on your sites load time. You do not want to bog your site down with fonts 1-2 should be sufficient.

Section 4 is the code that will be used in your css to change the fonts on your site

4) Open up your sites dashboard and open the editor

Dashboard- Appearance- Editor

Find body { and paste the code we copied in step 3 above body {

Tips~

Most themes will have an import font section located above the body{ and you can just add the code into that section if your theme has one.

BACKUP YOUR SITE BEFORE YOU CHANGE ITEMS IN YOUR STYLESHEET

5) Scroll down in your editor to the section of the css that contains the font you want to change and add the name of the font to the section.

Tips~

See below for the css codes for text areas of your site.

You should just be able to add the name of the font into the section in this tutorial we are using the Sofia we should be able to just add 'Sofia' into that section. With fonts that have more then one word in the font pay close attention to section four in step 3 so that you can add the proper name of the font into the css. If in doubt copy and paste section 4 in step 3 into your css were you want to use the font.

All codes are not included on the list you may have to open up your editor and look for the headline section and use trial and error to change the fonts.

Use Firebug to locate the css code for your headlines

I am so excited to announce that Swoon Media is releasing its first premade Genesis Child Theme. I loved creating Peppermint so much that I have begun working on the next premade Roxy and it should be released within the next couple of weeks. Peppermint runs on the Genesis Framework so you must own Genesis for the theme to work. So what is so special about this theme? It has a homepage slider, the Genesis grid loop, and it also has four different built in color options that you can change with a click of a button. I loved creating Peppermint so much that I have begun working on the next premade Roxy and it should be released within the next couple of weeks. Peppermint runs on the Genesis Framework so you must own Genesis for the theme to work.

If you have a blog you should be backing up your blog on a regular basis. There are many reasons why you should back up your Blogger blog. The most important reason is that when you have a Blogger blog Blogger is hosting your blog and therefore owns your blog. Blogger has been known to delete blogs without warning that they believe violate their terms of services. I know right now you are thinking "what me how could I possible violate Google's terms of services". Well sometimes when Google believes you have violated its terms of services they delete and you have to resolve the situation with Google and sometimes even if it was an error Google does not give you the contents of your blog back. Also, if Blogger disappeared tomorrow so would your blog. In addition, you should always back up whenever you do something within your HTML template that way just in case you do it incorrectly you can restore your blog back to its original state. Backing up your Blogger blog is very easy to do and takes very little time.
